Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in UAE Q3 2023

Throughout the third quarter of 2023, the top five communication apps on Android in the United Arab Emirates exhibited notable trends. Data from Sensor Tower reveals the performance metrics for WhatsApp Business, WhatsApp Messenger, Messenger, Botim - Video and Voice Call, and Telegram.

WhatsApp Business demonstrated a mixed performance in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads peaked at around 75.9K in mid-September, while weekly active users saw a decline from approximately 1.9M at the start of the quarter to about 1.6M by the end.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a stable download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 29.2K and 60.4K. Active users remained relatively steady, averaging around 4.6M, despite a slight dip to 4.2M in mid-September.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. showed consistent performance across all metrics. Weekly downloads hovered around 30K to 37.6K, while active users maintained an average of approximately 1.9M. Weekly revenue varied, peaking at $825 in late July.

Botim - Video and Voice Call saw significant fluctuations in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads ranged from 23.1K to a high of 53.3K in early September. Active users also showed variability, dropping from around 1.6M to 1.2M over the quarter. Revenue peaked at $2.0K in mid-July.

Lastly, Telegram presented a steady increase in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads rose from 19.6K to a peak of 35.1K by the end of September. Active users also saw growth, reaching approximately 1.8M by the quarter's end. Revenue showed a general upward trend, peaking at $1.8K in late September.
